Huckleberry Finn.
Huckleberry Finn is sort of a troublemaker in the town. And now is Toms bestfriend. He galavents around the town comeing and going as he pleases and doesnt really care much for any rules. He became friends with Tom when Tom saw that Huck was a rascal that did what he wanted. He met Tom when he was carrying a dead cat over his shoulder and said " im gonna clear all my warts!" and the adventure started when they went to the cemetary. There they saw a death, a crime, and a spirit. Both the boys were scared in this situation, but Huck kept his thoughts hidden after the gate closed of the cemetary. However Toms thoughts were frantically racing around. Huck was not as scared as Tom so he could get a good nights sleep and not worry about the following mornings breakfast discussion.
Tom Sawyer.
Tom is a kid that likes to do what ever he wants. He has sort of selective hearing towards his Aunt Polly and some other adults. Constantly in trouble, he finds ways to cheat conseciences. Aunt Polly tries to scold him and teach him that he is not supost to do bad things; but he could care less. When Tom and Huck witnessed the murder in the cemetary, they were scared that someone would blame them for the whole thing. Once away from the scence of the crime, Tom has to worry about his conscience telling the secret of the death, as he sleeps. He is hoping that one day it doesnt slip out that him and huck witnessed a grave dug up and Dr. Robinson killed, but him brother definatly isnt helping by calling him out at the breakfast table. Aunt Polly has not caught on to the descriptions of blood that Tom is reffering to in his dream.
Aunt Polly.
Aunt Polly is a very heartfelt lady trying to teach Tom & Sid to what is right. She's looking out for what is best for the boys. She tries and succeeds to be stern with Tom and his actions, but seems to not care. The old lady plays in many of Toms traps without advertentally knowing. She beleives that Tom and Sid are happy but once Tom became "addicted" to the painkillers and she hears toms explaination for feeding them to the cat and him needing to feel better; she began to cry due to the fact she already thought they were happy. Aunt Polly provides a lot for the boys and is motivated to keep them in line and stay safe.
Sid.
Sid, Tom's little brother is like most small siblings; Pesty and not very nice somtimes. They are always trying to be with us, yet we dont always appreciate them wanting to be at our sides. That's when they choose the "other" side. Meaning the side against us with everything. Sid is always trying to get Tom in trouble, just as my sister is always trying to pick a fight with me. They may be mean to us on purpose but somtimes they say things without thinking. Like Sid, when he hears Tom talking about the murder in his sleep, he will give away the dream just to get to Tom. However if Tom was a nicer to Sid, he would keep his mouth shut and not say a word. I dont think Sid hates his brother Tom but he just gets tired of having to stay behind with Aunt Polly and would like some attention from Tom.

Thinking of only yourself..
People that only take care of themselves in situations regarding help, greed, family, and friends make them not close as a friend, or nice with their words. Many people including me, don't always put themselves first..whereas they put family or friends before anything else. It makes them a bigger person in situations that can be hard to get out of and makes them able to be dependent on and know they have confidence. People can take care of themselves by putting others first, you may not get much but you'll be less selfish in the end and makes you a better friend.

A Christmas Carol
Bahumbug! Its Christmas time and all people are is merry around here, telling me to be merry to. Christmas time is a waste, with all the money spent on presents for rotten children, food thats cooked with lots of love, and songs..oh the songs! the blasted songs! being sung to make us smile and cheer. Clerks comeing and going asking for donations for familys in need that cannot have a lovely christmas with wonderful, warm cooked meals and presents under the tree. but i say..if they dont have money to spend, they dont need to think about anything of the sort. Christmas time..humbug! A time to for people to be merry and jolly and full. And a time for me to be alone!

The Pearl Symbolism
What we learned about the pearls symbolism to the main characters in the book (by its reactions) was that the pearl showed greed. When Kino and Juana were a normal family that lived in the village, who doctors would not talk to and town people named poor, found the pearl the size of an egg started having people talk to them. Many people in the book only cared about money in situations even regarding death, but when they heard that money was involved, they quickly changed character and acted as though they did really care. When Coyotito was stung by the scorpian, the doctor solemnly said he would only help if "he had money" but Kino and Juana did not have the patience to have their baby suffer in pain. Once finding the coin, everyone had started acting as though they had been friends with Kino and Juana for a long time. The doctor finally cared because he knew he could cheat Kino into giving him more money than normal, even by poisoning the baby.
